Anna Mac Clarke - Acknowledgments
This undertaking would have been virtually impossible without the cooperation of numerous federal and state agencies, businesses, veterans groups and individual citizens working together to accomplish our goal-to honor a Kentucky veteran.
The members of the Anna Mac Clarke Memorial Fund Committee thought it imperative that we do everything within our power to insure that not only Anderson countians, but the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, learn the role that African Americans played during World War II. Funding for this effort has been provided by the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission.
We wish to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this project and dedication ceremony. We would like to acknowledge especially the contributions of those listed below, for without their assistance this project could not have taken place.
Ms. Etta Withrow; The Kentucky National Guard; Kentucky World War II Commemorative Committee; The Kentucky Historical Society; The State Historic Preservation Office of the Kentucky Heritage Council; Senator Wendell Ford; The Women's Army Corps Museum, Fort McClellan, Alabama; The Historical Society of Douglas, Arizona; Kentucky State University; The City of Lawrenceburg and Anderson County, Kentucky; Anderson County Public Library; and Ersa Hines Poston.
