85th Regiment, United States Colored Infantry

Organized April 4, 1864, from 13th Corps de Afrique Infantry. Attached to a Provisional Brigade, 13th Corps, Texas, Dept. of the Gulf, to May, 1864.

SERVICE.- Duty at Brownsville, Texas, and other points in Texas till May, 1864. Mustered out by consolidation with 77th United States Colored Troops May 24, 1864.
